If I had a million dollars I would probably try to be smart with it. I would save most of it, try to invest some and spend some.
I would probably wait until I graduated to make any major purchases. The first thing I would buy would most likely be a car just because I would have the money to do it and you seem really impressive if you have a nice car. After that I would probably just buy anything that looked necessary (sports equipment, clothes, etc).
I would then try to invest some money to make it work for me, so that I could have it available in the future for when I would need to buy a house and support a family. Also, I would put to use in helping pay for my education.
I would probably give some to my parents to help pay for the house that is currently being built and probably a small portion to my brother just because I would feel that I would have to.
Overall, I think that winning that much money might not be the most fantastic thing in the world because it isn't really enough for you to throw it around as much as you want to and you would have to manage it carefully in order to keep yourself out of debt.

Spirit Week
I think that spirit week is a good idea for our school. It helps people get a better attitude towards school and it is also fun to dress up. However, I also think that our punishments for not dressing up aren't harsh enough. Its no fun when kids don't even try so we need to make them and the only way to do that is to start throwing pies at their faces again.

Plans For the Future
So far, Grade 12 has been fairly good. My classes haven't become too overwhelming yet and so, I've been satisfied. I still have a full course load though, so I am looking forward to the second semester where I will only have one class at the school and one correspondence course that I will do on my own time. I will really take the extra time that I have in the second semester, to relax, after 13 years of school from Kindergarten through to Grade 12, and decide on what I want to do with the rest of my life.
Currently, I am only sure that I want to have a post secondary education. I am unsure of what I want to take and where I want to go. I am thinking that after school I will most likely take a year off and work, make some decisions, and then go off to university. I find that most of the time I rarely have a short term plan, let alone a long term one. Since I don't know what I am really interested in doing, I am trying to keep all of my options open. I am taking classes that will give me an opportunity to go into whatever I want at University in the future. Sports are also impacting where I want to go to school. I would like to play hockey and/or baseball wherever I go. This is what makes going to school in the States seem like a very reasonable option.
I think that the most common question I am asked is what I'm going to do after this year. As you can see, I usually have to say something like "I don't know" or "I'm not too sure yet". Hearing this question makes me feel pressured to make a decision for a little while, but then I always realize that taking a year off is always an option. In regards to my future I am just trying not to be pressured into doing something that I don't want to do and then having to go back to school or something like that to get something different. In summary, I'm just going to keep going to school and look into possible options for my future along the way.
